Camptonville
Camptonville is a small mountain community with a lot of heart. Just over the Yuba County line, Camptonville is located about halfway between Nevada City and Downieville, CA. Real estate here consists of homes on acreage with a lot of privacy, but still with plenty of opportunities to be involved with a tight-knit community of local folks. At an elevation of 2825 ft, Camptonville is situated on a ridge between the North Fork and the Middle Fork of the Yuba River, meaning there are numerous access points to this majestic river and all of its swimming holes, striking natural beauty, and hiking trails. The green forested hills of the Tahoe National Forest surround real estate in Camptonville. This area is classified as a warm-summer Mediterranean climate and is a great choice for gardeners; the bustling Rebel Ridge Organics supplies many of the locals with farm and garden supplies. The quaint and well-preserved historic Camptonville School is still a flourishing small school for grades K-8, so families purchasing real estate in the area have a wonderful local option for schooling. The original Mayo Saloon downtown is now home to the popular Burgee Dave’s pub/restaurant, which is next-door to the newly-completed Camptonville Community Center for events for the whole family.
