As much as I brag on them, Nevada City isn’t just about Broad Street and the breathtaking scenery of the Sierra Foothills. It’s a hub for the arts, and as such the nightlife and holidays in Nevada City offer an array of events. For all of the street fairs that take place each month, the energy around town seems to culminate at the closing out of the year.
New Years Eve is one of my favorite times in downtown Nevada City. Every downtown street is filled with music and people who are celebrating. The city is practically humming from the amount of good vibes in the air.
If you’re looking for a New Year’s Eve event to attend in Nevada City, look no further! I’ve selected two super neat events to feature, plus have a few local happenings listed below.
New Year’s Eve at the Miners Foundary
Achilles Wheel and Boca do Rio both perform at this annual party at the Miners Foundary. This is sure to be an epic night with a mix of Rock n’ Roll, Roots and World music. Doors open at 8:30 and the show begins at 9:00 p.m. You can purchase tickets online and find out more information by clicking here.
The Norah Foundation Presents…
A New Year’s Eve Extravaganza. I chose this event because my heart was touched after reading the story behind the Norah Foundation. I can only hope that by sharing, this incredible event with get some added exposure and traffic. The event sounds like an amazing time, with local drink vendors, desserts, a photo booth, dancing, and champagne toast at midnight. Plus, every penny raised will go to families who have a child facing a medical hardship.
Purchase tickets, donate to the cause, or get involved at www.TheNorahFoundation.org.

It’s important to remind you that if you’re having a drink or two, remember that Community Recovery Resource are offering free rides on New Year’s Eve. It’s never a good idea to drink and drive.
